ALEXANDER SIEGEL
INFO
Alexander Siegel
Potsdam
1983
Alexander Siegel is someone that doesn’t only work as a DJ and producer he also lives for electronic music in every respect.
Influenced by different types of electronic music he made up his own style which is characterized by a constant and progressive groove. That, in turn, is the product of combining house with minimal techno. Another remarkable trait of Siegels music is his way of filtering sound structures out of playful elements but also reserved ones. His intuition in creating vitalizing music for the dancefloor has improved continually through his experiences with the growing number of followers.
With his offensive character Alexander Siegel is completing the artist duo “Rohrer & Siegel”, which represents the basic idea behind his co-own label VARIED. His additional and new project “Ordinary Subject” is a collaboration with Christian Scheel.

Christian Scheel
Berlin
1982
Once the things have been done. But no nostalgy! Copying the past can`t be rock’n roll. To start something new, forget the past and live the life now. That is in what Christian Scheel is focussed on.
In the 90ies Christian discovered is affinity for electronic music. First tapes, love parade parties and the following nightlife has infected him strongly. In that he invested his pocket money as soon as possible for turntables and a mixer. He began to improve is dj skills and came up with his first performance at Treibhaus Glöwen (Brandenburg) in 1999.
Never left this path it still took a long time to find the right way, to find the right environment for his musical identity. Before he joined the guys from VARIED Records and started together with Alexander Siegel the project “Ordinary Subject”, he worked in projects like Kollektiv Ost, Cours de Performance etc.

SiD
Berlin
1982
SiD discovered his love to electronic music since childhood. Due to a vacation job in 1992, he got into contact with the world of DJs live performances and clubs in Berlin for the first time – among them such as nightlife club legends “Boogaloo” or “Walfisch”. At the beginning of his apprenticeship he bought some turntables from his first money to start DJing immediately.
SiD worked for Freizeitglauben Records and arranged events like Frischzellenkur and Freizeitglauben labelnights. 3+1 and Rumbalotte are SiDs own event series, which intends to play a more and more serious role for Berlins nightlife. Further he is a resident of Marcus Meinhardt & Empro’s legendary marathon event session named Home Sweet Home. SiD presents his music and visions as one of the founders of VARIED Records, too.
The *Bretterbude* Bar25 as a smelter for music, art and interaction had also a great influence on SiDs way of doing art. In 2010 he created a live project called LAZER RAMON. Part of this new performence is a laser controller which has eight laser beams with 3 octaves each beam. The laser works like a kind of claviature made of lightbeams. When playing DJ Sets, his unique choice of records almost gains to absolute insanity … but thats still somehow the best. The way a set is developed always depends on the corresponding time, location and various opportunities of communication with the dancefloor. It sounds like deep loopy house combined with a breeze of techno.
Today SiD works at Kater Holzig, the replacement of the legendary Bar 25. With his residency he has the best opportunites to keep the focus on his musical development and the way he is obviously made for:
Love, life – electronic music!

TIMO KREISSL
INFO
Timo Kreissl
Hamburg
1978
Our friend Timo Kreissl from Hamburg is the latest artist member of the VARIED family.
Timo Kreissl plays electronic music since 10 years now. He has developed his style to a continious progression of minimalistic influenced music. House, Trance, Trip Hop and many other electronic styles created Timos actual sense for music too. His acoustic properties combine a deep based groove, innovative samples and subversive melodies with an organic touch. Playing vinyl means for Timo to dive into a sea of sound. When the needle gets into contact, he feels responsible to satisfy the elementary needs of the dancing crowd. His personal claim is it to refine his style of music and mixing. So he is open minded for the undiscovered, remaining faithfull to the rules of the dancefloor.
